Honor the mother

Being part of the textile industry, we feel a responsibility to reduce harm. We’ve had many discussions on how to even bring any kind of product into this world of overconsumption.

The truth is, the textile industry is one of the world’s most harmful industries, and that made it even more important for us to do things differently. We realize that we will have an impact no matter what, so we have chosen different parameters to minimize the negative impact and maximize the positive.

In our research we found a specially made kind of fabric called EcoVero™, that has far more sustainable qualities than regular viscose. We teamed up with an experienced Danish sourcing agency that works with sustainable productions only. Together, we found a female founded clothing manufacturer specialized in sustainability and located in Europe, limiting the distance of shipping.

We decided to order smaller amounts of clothes at a time, ensuring that we don’t have a large amount of unsold products going to waste. By demanding newer and higher standards, educating ourselves and our customers, we not only spread the sustainability agenda, but we also push our partners for positive changes in the future. In many ways, companies, consumers and industries are co-regulating by the development of supply and demand.

On a journey

We know, that we still have more to learn from the great teacher Mother Earth and we thank her for guiding us along the way.

We strive to continue asking the important questions, admitting our mistakes, changing course, asking for help and staying curious to have the best possible impact on everything we engage with on our way.

We are not perfect - we are on an evolving journey in the right direction: Honoring the Earth and the People.

When we started the new chapter of honoring the feminine in every aspect of Yonii, we found the ultimate teacher in Mother Earth.

To honor the Mother, we needed to make some improvements and naturally we wanted to adjust our way of producing.

It’s been important for us, not just to choose the easiest ways of promoting sustainability or get the most eco-looking design, but actually do our very best at respecting nature’s resources.

We had to dive into understanding sustainability in an essential way and the more we knew, the more we understood, that we had to learn.

Our partners employ ethical and fair working standards with an appropriate living wage, ongoing assurance of ethical conduct and continuously develop their procedures to reduce, reuse and recycle and even turn the majority of their waste material into new fabrics.

The high ethical and environmental standards we have for our clothing manufacturer, goes all the way to the packaging and materials that you receive.

EcoVero™

Our clothes are produced with Lenzing™ EcoVero™ viscose, which is one of the most sustainable viscose fibers in the world.

The wood pulp used to create the fabric comes from FSC certified sustainable forestry. The fibers generate up to 50% lower emissions and water impact compared to generic viscose, giving you confidence that your clothes are environmentally responsible.

EcoVero™ is certified to meet high environmental standards throughout its entire life cycle and the fiber itself is biodegradable.
